Charlie Paul is the founder and Creative Director of Itch Film and based in production offices above a state of the art motion control studio in central London.
He originates from fine art and following his graduation, began as an animator, working his way into directing. By the mid 90’s, he was much sought after as a Director for live-action and animation mix commercials.

Charlie has won many International awards for his work, including: BAFTA, D&AD, Clio, Creative Circle, Rank Cinema, BTAA. Through his animation interest, Charlie over the years has developed phenomenal technical knowledge in motion control and many camera types and lenses.

Over twelve years ago Charlie’s animation work for Co-op Supermarket took him into the arena of food photography. It was a long-standing relationship with this client and offered him the opportunity and experience of working with all food types and liquids.
Charlie currently specialises in Directing high-end food beauty and with his renowned history in animation heads an animation team delivering content in all mediums.
Itch Film provide the only, permanently fixed motion control rig in central London. The rig moves on all axis and is compatible with both 35mm film and Digital formats. There are in-house cameras, full lighting packages and an expert crew available to provide the perfect set up for food, tabletop, product & shot replacement sequences.

Charlie Paul and Itch Film, are now represented exclusively in Ireland through MaxFilms. We can offer the talent of Charlie and the Itch Film motion control rig and studio set up to Irish Advertising Agencies and clients who want to really showcase their food products.
