Resume Normal Service

by Max Brady

Well after CowenGate/Picturegate, back to normal today. I like this! When I came across it, I thought that maybe it was another anti drugs spot. But no! It’s much more fun than that!

Is this what we voted for?

by Max Brady

I fully intend that this blog will be a blog about film production, and great commercials from around the world. But, every now and again something fires me up, (well fairly regularly actually, ask my SO!)

I’m no fan of our current government, I doubt many people are. But I at least thought that they would be able to take it on the chin!

If you, as a Government, can make our lives so miserable through your mismanagement of our country’s finances, enable corrupt bankers to steal from us and lie to us, run this country into the ground; a country that was built upon the work of ordinary people, mothers, and entrepreneurs, and if you are going to screw even more blood out of our dried up financial stones in your emergency budget, that you know will not stem the flow of waste that you created in your last administration, then you should, at the very least, see that people need to let off steam. That we have a right to express our opinions, even if you don’t like them!

Nob nation is shut down, and I suspect that The Emergency may also come under the scrutiny of the Govt. censors, but the flow of information on the super highway cannot be stopped.

YouTube, the Twittersphere, the Blogosphere cannot be censored in the same way, because Government has no place here. And you An Taoiseach and your spin doctors, shame on you for censoring the national broadcaster, owned by the people, for the people, paid for by the people!

If, like me you missed the RTE report, and then missed the disgraceful apology, here it is!

Spreading across t’internet fast!

by Max Brady

If you’ve ever worked with sheep, and I have, (buy me a pink drink and I’ll tell you all about it!), then you’ll know that this was actually a nightmare to produce. No matter how skillful the shepherds and their working dogs, sheep are not easy to get into formation, and I would not have liked to have been the poor old trainee tasked with putting the ‘light up’ coats onto animals that are smelly, wriggly, and can cause you quite an injury when they stand on your foot. (Buy me two pink drinks, and I’ll show you the scar!)

Ken wins picture of the day on pix.ie

by Steph

The beautiful picture below from Ken was featured as pix.ie’s picture of the day. Ken took this while he was in Colorado on a shoot for Coors Light. The Grey Jay birds were feeding from his hand, so he took advantage of the situation to get this amazing shot. You can see more of Ken’s pictures at www.pix.ie/kenmbyrne

Will this get through?

by Max Brady

Back in the day, before condoms became legal here, (a mere 17 years ago), I really wish we’d been able to do this sort of thing; instead of being threatened with arrest for lewd conduct and illegal activity when we distributed Mr Branson’s prophylactics from the aptly named, London Rubber Company, and Virgin! (Imagine the fun you could have now for a condom commercial in a sexually repressed Ireland with names such as Virgin, and London Rubber Company.)
